Different Types Of Bread To Make At Home

There are many types of bread you can make at home with different levels of difficulty. Still, nothing tastes better than a slice of freshly baked bread with butter melted on it. Just to name a few, there is rye bread, pumpernickel, Italian, French bread, sourdough and whole wheat. Sourdough bread is great for soups and such. Sponge bread is also another type. Sweet breads are great for holidays or just to have around for a snack. Sweet breads can be made with honey or molasses. Cinnamon rolls would be first-rate.

Many different kinds of bread are made from different yeasts. There are two basic types of yeast bread; they are kneaded bread or stiff batter bread. Batter bread is a very easy to make type of yeast bread that is often used in homes. Here is how you go about making your own.

First, dissolve your yeast in a bowl. Then, add in liquid ingredients such as eggs, honey, milk or whatever else is called for. The oil and most of the flour is stirred in, while beating it by hand heartily with a wooden spoon. You should have a thick, lumpy batter; start slowly adding the rest of the flour until the dough is sticky and stiff. Beat until the dough is smooth and stretches well when you pull the spoon away. Pour it into a greased pan and let it rise; then you may bake it. Batter breads take the shape of the pan it is in because it is not stiff enough to form. When making yeast bread you use four basic ingredients. Add dissolved yeast and water to the flour and salt; then you mix it together. If it is too dry, add water. If it is too wet, add flour.
