If you have the urge to bake, here are some recipes that are easy, quick and delicious.
The first recipe is for Simple Fudgy Saucepan Brownies, found at http://www.landolakes.com/mealIdeas/ViewRecipe.cfm?RecipeID=7205. Just preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, in a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup butter and 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, stirring over medium heat until melted. Remove from the stove. Stir in 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour, and 2 large eggs. Spread into an 8-inch greased pan and bake for 23 to 27 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides. In the meantime, use same pan and mix together 1/4 cup butter, 3 tablespoons milk, and 1 square chocolate. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the pan reaches a full boil, around 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat, add 2 1/2 cup powdered sugar and beat. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and spread over warmed brownies. Sounds yummy!
Monster Cookies can be found at http://www.bake-sale-recipes.com/cookies.html. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together 6 beaten eggs, 2 cups sugar, 2 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 cup softened margarine, 1/2 tablespoon white corn syrup, 18 ounce jar of peanut butter, 9 cups quick-cooking oats, 1 tablespoon vanilla, and 4 teaspoons baking soda together with a mixer. Add nuts, flavored baking chips, M&Ms or whatever you like. Drop on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
If you go to http://www.bake-sale-recipes.com/easy-bake-sale-recipes.html, you'll find Easy Peanut Butter Cup Bars which you don't need to bake. You just mix 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs with a box of powdered sugar. Melt 1 1/2 cup peanut butter with 1 1/2 sticks margarine or butter and add to the crumb mixture. Spread in a 9x13-inch buttered pan, pressing firmly. Melt 1/2 stick butter with a 6-ounce bag of chocolate chips over low heat. Pour over crust, let it cool to set, and cut into bars. Is your mouth watering yet?
