There are three main types of clowns: a white face, auguste, and character clown. White face clowns are simple; they are the clowns with the white faces such as Bozo the Clown and Ronald McDonald. They can usually do something very skillful; they can juggle, plan an instrument, be flexible, or perform magic!
The auguste clowns have their skin showing, but also wear makeup, too. For example, Cookie the Clown, Bozo's sidekick. They usually have a lot of energy and are often hyper.
The character clowns act like other people. For example there can be a firefighter clown, mad scientist, ballerina, or more! They usually try to impersonate their character and do it in a funny, humorous way.
