Everyone knows that country music singer Barbara Mandrell is known for the song “I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool.” But, did you know that Barbara was playing the accordion and reading music by the time she was five years old?
By the time she was eleven, she caught the attention of Joe Maphis and soon became a featured performer at his Las Vegas nightclub show. The sweet little blonde from Texas stayed in the lime light and performed with several famous country artists.
