Roasted Dessert Pears

Here's a lighter version of Roasted Dessert Pears which is a sweet and simple dessert recipe.

Ingredients:
4 ripe Bartlett pears, peeled, cored, and cut in half
2 tablespoons Splenda® Granulated No Calorie Sweetener
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring
1/2 cup orange juice
1 pint low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
2. Arrange pears cut side down in an 11x7x1½-inch baking dish.
3. Combine Splenda® Granulated Sweetener, cinnamon, lemon juice, butter, and maple flavoring. Spoon over pears, turning to coat. Pour orange juice in bottom of pan around pears.
4. Bake, uncovered, in preheated oven 20-25 minutes or until pears are tender. Serve warm or at room temperature with 1 scoop frozen yogurt.

Notes from Betty: It is important to remember that Splenda® Granulated No Calorie Sweetener tastes like sugar, but performs differently than sugar in cooking and baking recipes. All freshly baked goods are best eaten within 24 hours. If you want to keep your baked goods made with Splenda® longer, wrap well and freeze.
